


"Sure Gonna Miss Her" was written by Bobby Russell and was recorded by Gary Lewis & the Playboys. The song reached #9 on The Billboard Hot 100 in April 1966. Russell went on to write several hits, including "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia, (a major hit for his then-wife Vicki Lawrence to whom he was married from 1972 to 1974); "Little Green Apples", which won him a Song of the Year Grammy Award in 1968 from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences; and "Honey", which was a #1 hit for Bobby Goldsboro, spending five weeks at the top of the Billboard Pop Singles Chart in 1968.
